Parker Ortolani blogging about the new MacBook Air. I hadn’t even thought about the color until now:

For the first time in 24 years, since the introduction of the first white iBook, Apple has a blue laptop again. While the new MacBook Airs are most certainly a “spec bump,” they make for a pretty good one.

@ryanbooker It was closer to black than blue, though, right? 🙂 I guess it's debatable but this feels like the first actually blue laptop since the G3 iBook.

@manton I wish that they had leaned into the colours more though and had a brighter blue or even the lavender of the iPads.

@cathyr.bsky.social Yeah, more colors would be welcome. I was a little disappointed when upgrading my iPhone that the purple from my previous phone was no longer an option.

@manton Their purples are lovely.

And I’ve just realised with the 16e replacing the SE, there are no more red phones (and connected charity support) 😢

@manton @ryanbooker It’s definitely dark, but it’s unmistakably (and in my opinion gorgeously) blue in person. The sky blue looks like it’s going to be the same, but on the opposite end of the brightness scale.
