Much faster home page updating for Micro.blog-hosted sites rolling out now. Also, moving to a separate “Archive” page in the navigation and away from pagination. Feedback welcome. (This is a first step. Better year/month organization will come later.)

What does “away from pagination" mean? Do you mean the JavaScript-based infinite scroll that you see at a lot of media websites? Please do not do that.

@clonezone Definitely not the infinite scroll! That is the worst. No, what I mean is the "next/previous" links to page through a set of posts, which doesn't scale well for thousands of posts. Instead there's now a separate archive page (and maybe sub-pages later).

love the archive idea! Pagination can get pretty crazy.i think the archive doesn't differenciate longer posts enough though…

@smith Thanks, we can definitely improve the archive from here. I agree about long posts.

How do you access the Archives page? Do you need to create a new /archives page and leave it blank (similar to the about page...)

@kaa Mine shows up at burk.io/archive
It doesn't show up in the pages section of settings.

@kaa It will automatically create it next time you post to your site. (Might take a minute to fully appear.)

Hmm, ok not sure what's happened, but I posted something which is not showing on on my home page (although the individual post page is up) and no archive either unfortunately.

@kaa new posts took a long time to show up today for me as well. I assume it’s something to do with all the changes today.

Still not appearing. I tried posting something new and that also didn't turn up either (on the site at least, the post appeared in the timeline instantly).

@kaa Thanks for letting me know. It looks like I broke one of the themes in yesterday's update. Fixing now and I'll make sure your site is updated.

digging the idea of the archive page (kinda looks like how I’ve tweaked the landing page on mine); got to see if there’s a means to do breakdown by month (month-name as subheading, anchor-links to go to a specific month, etc.). This will be helpful going forward nevertheless. Many thanks for adding this.

I think my site might be broken as well. Posts appear in the feed, but homepage not updated.

@furstenberg Very likely the same problem, which is now fixed. Should update the home page the next time you post or if you edit any site settings.

@mchlmc Thanks for the feedback. I'm going to start with a way to re-order the Archive link, and then see what other changes are possible.
