Great write-up (via @blankbaby) on walking from various airports to each city’s downtown, often 5-10 miles. Seems like a unique way to see a new city.

@blankbaby I'm amazed this is possible! It'd take close to 4 hours to walk from Melbourne airport to the CBD and that's mainly just highways - possibly not even footpaths for pedestrians for much of the trip. It's a shame!

@belle @blankbaby Now Newark would be a true challenge: would taking a ferry be allowed or would one have to hike all the way to the GWB then back down to Midtown? I guess swimming or kiyaking across the Hudson are two more options. 🤔

This is great. I often travel with a folding bike, so I do the same, but cycling. Getting in/out of the airport is the hardest part. Las Vegas is good: very close to downtown, and Barcelona is possible if you know a few odd local shortcuts.
