We’ve been playing Catan this weekend. I love the design and how balanced the game feels. Nice way to spend some time as the holiday break winds down for the kids.
Matthew Cassinelli Love this game. 99% of the strategy happens on the first placement though, which can be tricky for kids
Manton Reece @matthewcassinelli I'm not sure when this rule was introduced, but the latest edition includes a starting map and first 2 settlements if you want a fair starting point for everyone. We switched to a random board but I could see the fixed start helping kids.

Rodrigo Moreira Araujo @matthewcassinelli I’m guessing it’s been a while, as I’ve been playing for 5 years and it was already there. A strategy that might help the kids is teaching them to try maximizing the number of circles below the numbers around the city 😊
