Setting up more Micro.blog accounts today to be ActivityPub-enabled. Folks will get an email when this is enabled. It can be turned off, and we’ll likely be adding some more settings here too.

@manton I thought they already were ActivityPub-enabled? I must have misunderstood.

Same as @jsit. Newbie question: what else does it do, when ActivityPub is enabled?

I got email this morning re. @tbc. How serendipitous! I greatly appreciate you and your team!
I'm in! I was @tbc@social.kjv.online, parked for years. Mentioning the two people I follow: lsanger@mastodon.social @grammargirl. I am so excited! #tbch0409a

@manton Hm weird — my account is years old and I’ve been able to follow it on Mastodon for years. Maybe I manually turned it on?

@jsit Yep, you probably turned it on. We've had the feature for 4+ years, but it was a little buried before unless you looked for it.

@manton About (roughly) how many users from Micro[dot]blog will be #ActivityPub enabled in total after this update?

@manton About (roughly) how many users from Micro[dot]blog will be #ActivityPub enabled in total after this update?

@tchambers I'm not sure yet. We are probably going to enable it for everyone who has been active in the last year. That way we don't bother older accounts who have dropped off.

After you do you should definitely reach out to places like this:
https://fediverse.observer/stats
And be sure MicroDotBlog is listed as Wordpress is now.

@tchambers I think I see what you did there. Can you help me understand tagging? First you posted as @fed.brid.gy and then again from your indieweb.social identity. Both link the same place: #ActivityPub and I can do that, too: #ActivityPub.
So let's see if I can create a new tag in the fediverse from my micro.blog identity: #tbch0409a.

I should not have expected a link until I started following myself, but this should work now: @tbc
I'm slowly catching on

@tbc that didn't work, but @tbc can create the tag, so I'm good for now. Sigh. So much to learn about federated blogging. I've had enough for the day. I want to find this later, though: #tbch0409a
