It’s pretty incredible how little has changed in podcast RSS feeds in 20 years. That’s a good thing. The podcast ecosystem is not exactly suffering because of any confusion or missing spec features.

Makes me think of Micro.blog. I’ve seen so many people show up and be excited with feature requests because that’s what they’re used to from elsewhere, and then even if they’re disappointed by the lack of said feature they continue to take part in the community. Then eventually, later, they no longer want the request and realise that maybe it’s ok if the whole world of tech isn’t developed at break-neck speed.
As somebody who only knew full computing via Windows until just over a year ago, I can vouch for the fact that a long list of features and constant additions does not a great experience make.
