Added a basic import in Micro.blog for folks migrating from Substack. For now, just blog posts. Still need to think through email address import for newsletters… Want to make sure it can’t be abused by spammers. (Substack’s HTML is so verbose. Tried to clean it up a little on import.)
Jatan Thank you so much! I thought Micro.blog already has an email import function in the Newsletter settings somewhere? I’m not currently on the Premium plan so can’t check.
Manton Reece @moonmehta No, there’s no email import. Currently you have to essentially start over and people can re-subscribe again. My tentative plan is to allow import for paid accounts that have been active for a couple months… I just don’t want someone to create a trial and then import 1000 emails to spam.
Jatan Yeah, that’s totally understandable. I look forward to that option being available too but happy with the post import for now. Considering moving my non-space blog over to my microblog here and merging it. 🙂
