I’m always fascinated when our new AI bot overlords get really basic facts wrong. They know the answer, but can’t put it together until you press them on it. Here’s a quick transcript from ChatGPT that I ran into today.

@manton I mean they don’t actuall “know” anything, they just understand that statistically these words typically come after these other ones.
All of this AI talk has been extremely unimpressive to me as it all looks to be a slightly interesting demo of some fancy Ipsum Lorem generation.

@mikeshields I felt the same way until I started using it more. I now keep a ChatGPT window open almost all the time while working. There are some things that are faster to ask it than searching the web. Also it's kind of fun. 🙂
