@manton I speak on behalf of the Council of Water Spillers when I say: you are not alone.

the last time that this happened to me, I was lucky that I didn’t loose any data and the computer still worked, but it was unlucky b/c it fried the battery connection on the board. So it would only work if I kept it plugged in.

Not good, but better that it was water than coffee or anything with sugar in it. Take care to be sure it is thoroughly dry before working as usual!

Oof. I did this about 15 years ago. A Super Duper! bootable backup saved me for work for a week as I dried the laptop out. Then the laptop worked for a while, but slowly degraded over time and I bought a new one about a year later.

Hopefully the tech has improved over that time!

@manton Never trust it just to go away! I know it from personal experience.
