New web analytics tool from @vincent looks like a nice fit for blogs and small web sites: tinylytics.

@numericcitizen I feel like analytics is best as a separate service. Having a plug-in for Micro.blog to make it easy could be nice, though.

may I also suggest the excellent Fathom Analytics at www.usefathom.com ?
Works like a charm with micro.blog without using cookies.
It’s a paid service, but worth every penny IMHO.

@cesco their pricing tiers are quite high for small website like mine and probably many other MBloggers. I could be wrong but…

@GeekAndDad @vincent Not sure I understand what UI you saw… If you view the profile on Micro.blog, there should be a “follow on Mastodon” text field where you can enter your Mastodon username and click “Proceed to Follow”. If you view on Mastodon, you should be able to follow directly.

@GeekAndDad I see, thanks. This seems like a client bug in Mono (and Ivory). When I click on the link on the web version of Mastodon, it does show a profile page inside Mastodon. Pretty sure Micro.blog is doing the right thing.

@numericcitizen yes, it can be pricey if you can use it for just one website.
But they also allow you to use their services along multiple websites you own or maintain, as long as the total hits keeps below a (very generous) cap.

@GeekAndDad The raw ActivityPub should look like your first example. That’s the actual “actor” URL, and presumably Mastodon knows this and is converting it to a profile link. The client apps don’t understand ActivityPub so they might be hardcoded for Mastodon-style links.

@GeekAndDad Sounds good. Of course if there’s an issue on Micro.blog’s side I will fix it, but this appears to be something specific with Mastodon clients. (Whether they can even fix it without API changes, I’m not sure.)

@vincent Apologies, I should have checked my extensions first. Something StopTheMadness is doing created madness this time. Disabled that and it works as you described.
Sorry for the bother! Also, thank you for putting this project together! It looks like just the easy, simple analytics solution I've been searching for.
