Good morning, Libby fans. Experimental feature now available in Micro.blog: go to this special path in Micro.blog in your web browser: /account/libraries. Enjoy! πŸ“š

Ciyadh Wells

this is awesome. Can’t wait to try it out!

Gabz

Nice!!

Matt Routley

cool! This is my main source for books, so great to have it integrated with Micro.blog. Works well so far

Manton Reece

@mroutley Great to hear, thanks for trying it!

Chris Enns

Oh this is awesome. And exactly the kind of thing bigger apps wouldn't integrate with. Thanks for testing it out.

Matt Langford

That's cool. I just added my account. Currently waiting on the import. Am I right to assume the books will be removed from each shelf as they are removed from Libby (such as when a loaned book is returned or a hold is moved to loans)? Or will the history be preserved?

patrick t.

this is exciting! Thank you!

Pratik

Looks great and worked like a charm. Currently show loans and holds. Will it show the history as well?

Matt Langford

@pratik Ha. Great minds. Are your current books already showing? The shelves were created automatically, but they're currently empty.

Manton Reece

@pratik I wasn't planning on adding history. What would you use that for?

Manton Reece

@Mtt Yes, as books are moved into holds or loaned, the special shelves in Micro.blog are updated automatically to remove or add a book. There's no history. It assumes you'd have your book reading history on your blog or in other bookshelves anyway.

Manton Reece

@Mtt Oops, check again now. Looks like there was a bug with some library IDs, fixing.

Pratik

Moving forward, I could move/copy them to the Read or Abandoned shelf instead of re-entering them in Epilogue

Pratik

@Mtt I only have three books each on hold and loans and they showed up after 5 minutes

Matt Langford

Thanks. Looks good. I would love to be able to choose a list where books go when removed (for example, when removed from loans, add to "finished reading" or even "loan history"). But in the grand scheme of things, that's a minor request for a feature that's barely 10 minutes old. I'm happy with it no matter what.

Manton Reece

@Mtt Good feedback, thanks. πŸ‘

Sam Davies

This is amazing! Excellent work!

Manton Reece

@mrbeefy Thanks!
