We finally installed a new smoke alarm that has only been sitting unopened in its box for about two years. Feels like a major Saturday accomplishment. Very slowly upgrading everything.
benji I'm happy to know this isn't just me. I've had a fire alarm waiting to be installed for 6 months now but that's future benji's problem.
Rene van Belzen Aren't those required by law? I can imagine insurance companies require to have them installed as well.

Chris Reeves Keep in mind they have a limited life as you’re supposed to replace them every 10 years. Under “Technical Info”, the Nests will tell you when to replace each unit. Not sure if they just start beeping and nagging until you get a new one?
