Mike Rockwell @manton but the president has broad powers to declassify documents without oversight. He doesn’t have to go through a process in order to do so. The act of removing the documents made them his personal documents.

He took the documents while he was president, so they are declassified by that action.
Mike Rockwell @manton I can see the argument that the case is meant to clarify the powers of the president and his ability to declassify without oversight. But I haven't really seen anyone making that argument.
