Putting on my sys admin hat this week, evaluating what we can improve. Our primary MySQL server has been running for over three years without a restart. Not bad! (Hopefully I didn’t just jinx it.)
Elliot Shank Long uptimes like that scare me. You don’t know that your system configuration will work in an emergency reboot situation. Best to plan a time to reboot when you’re prepared for it. I generally like to reboot at least once per year.
