I don’t have strong feelings about the Adobe/Figma deal falling through. I guess if we’re unsure, better to err on the side of fewer big acquisitions. Om Malik makes a really interesting point too that more regulation could mean fewer startups will have “just get acquired” as an exit plan.

@manton While I am always happy to do my part in making the VC scum of the earth have less money (thanks for all those subsidized ride share trips, SilVal!) I think it would be a net positive if companies spin up with an expectation that boils down to “I will do this thing and thereby take in some additional percentage in sales above what it costs me to do” rather than “spend -> ? -> profit!”

@manton Id be very happy to see fewer acquisitions in the tech world. I think consumer focus is better when the goal is a long term independent company.
