I’ve decided to opt-out the Micro.blog apps from the Apple Vision Pro store. My boring CEO take: it’s not something we have time to test and support with a small team. More rant-y take: I don’t believe in the product yet, and worry about us all living in a headset. Touch grass, friends!

@vincent Ah hah!

There’s going to be so few of them that I can’t see it being worthwhile for most developers to spend much time on it. To get mass adoption, I think it’ll need to drop by two thirds in price and weight.

@vincent I will be shocked if you tested the new app in the Vision Pro simulator. 🙂

Thank heavens! I think there would be requests for a character limit of 4000 chars.

Numeric Citizen

fair.

@manton The right decision I say.

Simon Woods

@vincent Imagine dealing with App Review for that thing 😂

rom

agree with this decision. It is premature to invest in something that has “only” 60,000 users. :)

rom

@vincent I thought you were working on an AI Pin app and the R1 non-app? :)

James R. Hull

it’s a product that was built to be the next big thing. Unfortunately for them AI is the next big thing, and now it just seems silly.

rom

@pratik haha this too! :)

Numeric Citizen

@pratik how do you know that number? 🤔

👍🏻
I don’t think there will be a “gold rush” app store situation on Vision like there was on iPhone. Like the Watch focused into fitness, Maybe Apple’s headset will narrow focus into gaming?
