While troubleshooting today, I took a minute to notice how many posts are on my blog. About 6400, of which 4700 are short microblog posts, 1700 long-form posts. But the surprise was over 12,000 replies, which I don’t really think about. All of this needs to funnel through Micro.blog and Hugo.
Numeric Citizen and that’s only your blog!!! Processing all that each time you publish a new post is insane and … inefficient (if I understand Hugo correctly)
Manton Reece @numericcitizen It’s sort of an ongoing battle, how to make everything as fast as possible. Hugo is very fast. Managing all the files and caches across multiple servers is the harder part.

Manton Reece @pratik I was looking in the database. I don’t think we show the count anywhere. You’d probably need to export all the replies and count them that way.
