Getting good feedback (positive and negative) about how we’re using AI in Micro.blog. We transcribe podcasts automatically and we summarize bookmarked web pages. It is fairly isolated, but even so I get that some folks don’t trust AI even for this. I don’t want to push the limits either.
Neil Bruder @manton I think your approach is the right one. Using AI tools with a narrow focus that brings a tangible benefit for the user. Some people won’t like the use of AI under any circumstances and I don’t think you should be beholden to them.
Numeric Citizen as soon as some form of explicite disclamer is provided (AI sources, models used, etc.), I’m fine.
Manton Reece @numericcitizen Yeah, I need to document this better. We did have OpenAI in our privacy policy, but just for podcasts. I’ve updated it to reflect this change. Probably need another help page with more details.
Jotham Lim I don’t really see the use case of A.I. for micro.blog’s core operations. Just like how many people want Arc to just be an efficient MacOS browser, I was hoping that micro.blog will just be a good Hugo CMS with IndieWeb configurations / social features (Discover).
