I’ve said before that it’s difficult to write in 300 characters about the war in Gaza. I’ve been drafting a full blog post about it, but I don’t think I will ever post it. I love blogging about many topics, including politics, but this is so divisive that I can’t see any good that will come from it.

Alexandra Wolfe

I think that we all want to write similar posts over the years about so many divisive subjects that, in the end, never get published. Better we get whatever out of our system, in private, and all keep our sanity.

@alexink Good point. Sometimes writing it is enough.

Patrick Rhone

Yep. Same.

Alexandra Wolfe

I find it works for me.

You should have a Speakers' Corner, like in Hyde Park, London UK. See this YT video.

@manton on the flipside, if we keep silent we are complicit. Like the good people that did nothing in the 30s

The Art Of Not Asking Why

I agree with you. Sometimes just saying that you have an opinion and it occupies your mind, it all that needed. You went further and explained why you won't speak of it publicly, and I think most of us can respect that.

Jordan Kay

@manton Absolutely nothing wrong with that! I wish more people came to a conclusion like this.

Adam Tinworth

I have colleagues at City who reported on that situation for well over a decade before coming into academia. And if they’re unwilling to express opinions on it because of the sheer complexity of it, what can I do be follow their example?

Munish Pruthi

@alexink I think you are right. Sometimes we just need to write it and then think what next?
