Love these book updates from Brandon Sanderson, on Reddit:
Finished the last interlude today at 5:21. That is a wrap: Wind and Truth, Book five of the Stormlight Archive, is finished. Tomorrow morning, I’ll hand it off to the proofreading and copyediting team. 491k words.
I couldn’t be more excited about this book. Still thinking about re-reading books 1-4 later this year. There is so much in this series, it’s hard to take it all in with one reading.
condie @manton I’ve read 1-4 3 times, and I keep finding new things. It’s especially fun with the interconnectedness with the other books.
Manton Reece @condie Cool! Yeah, now that I’ve read everything else in the Cosmere, I’m sure I’ll pick up on things I didn’t get before.
Mike Roest @manton hopefully it doesn’t reach wheel of time levels where the books are so far apart that I have to re-read just to remember what happened even in the vaguest sense.
Jon Lillie I’ve been thinking of picking up one of his books. But not sure where to start. Any recommendations?
Manton Reece @JonLillie I like starting with Mistborn because it’s a great first book and not quite as ginormous as Way of Kings. If you just want a taste, there’s also the novella Emperor’s Soul. Enjoy!
Manton Reece @msroest I stalled on Wheel of Time after a few books… When I finally pick it up again, I may need to start over.
Alexander Kucera that is great news! I was wondering about when the next book is due just yesterday. I love books 1-4.
Mike Roest @manton honestly for me Wheel of Time got to the point where I just couldn’t be bothered anymore to keep reading the new ones I think Path of Daggers is the last one before I just noped out. I’m curious to read the Sanderson written ones but just don’t want to put myself through that slog. I was thinking of looking for a good summary post/video and then just reading the end..
