Jason Snell paints a picture of Apple as sort of irritatedly getting on board the AI hype train. On the OpenAI deal, I don’t think either side has clearly won. It brings to mind Draft Day: “This is a good deal… This is a good deal for both of us.”
Numeric Citizen I can’t wait to read this piece but meanwhile, besides social networks (forget about Ping), Apple can be up to many technical challenges… and willing to invest to come up with their unique approach.
Rene van Belzen I’m still curious what the societal impact will be, not only through consumer products, but also Big Data, which is more in need of an AI solution than Siri. Also think of all those scientific papers that are currently piling up on arXive, because there aren’t enough scientists (motivated) to do peer-review (unpaid, BTW).
