Nick Heer summarizes the OpenAI sandboxing news, initially covered by The Verge. I think the “security risk” of this is largely overblown. Many apps (including my own!) store files on your Mac with the assumption that no one else has access to your computer.
Greg Morris the issue I’ve seen raised, which is a valid one, was that the data is stored outside the sandbox so any other software could also access it without special privileges.
However there a lot of feelings that cloud this so even less resistance to start the finger pointing
