Last post about Biden for a while. Dave Winer makes a point I’ve wanted to blog about:
- If Biden gets disabled, or dies, before or after the election – VP Harris steps up.
- Now everyone can relax.
I’m not worried that Biden will die or have to resign halfway through his term. That’s why we have a vice president. Kamala will finish the job, make history, then run for re-election. 🇺🇸
Ryan Lounsbury @manton 100% this. This election is about two very divergent ideologies. At the end of the day if Biden is unable to perform the duties of the office there is a line of succession.
So voting for Biden is the same thing as voting for Kamala Harris.
Jonathan Hays I think the argument is that Biden is already disabled and still not stepping aside. I’m not sure you can just wave away what happened on the stage.
Manton Reece @cheesemaker I don’t think that argument holds because if so we’d be seeing calls for him to resign too, from his own staff, senators, etc. Instead the opposite is happening. He’s lost a step, but he’s also held a dozen events since last week.
