I feel that I’ve been overpaying for sending email for years. Making another attempt at migrating to Amazon SES with a dedicated IP. Should cut my bill in half and hopefully fix some reliability problems. (If anything bounced at SendGrid, it would stop sending emails until reset… Not great.)

@manton Amazon SES will shut you off if your bounce rate is too high, so watch out for that.

we significantly reduced all kind of problems we had with other transactional email when we moved to SES.

@manton I had a terrible experience with Sendgrid (despite an explicit warning, they got social engineered into giving an attacker access to my account, then lied to me about it).
I've had very pleasant experiences with SES, though! And so cheap.

postmark works very well. Alternatively, we self host Postal and it’s pretty great, a lot of people talk about how hard is to self host email but on my experience is not that tricky as long as you’ve proper guardrails in place.
