House shopping during election season is great. There are so many political yard signs, you can tell a lot about what your future neighbors are like.

@manton I gotta say, when I was in ATX at the beginning of the month, my son's neighborhood (Hyde Park) was kicking ass in the yard sign wars. I didn't see a single Trump or Cruz sign, not one.

@amerpie Yeah, most of Austin has gotta be like 20 to 1, Harris to Trump signs. Lots of Colin Allred too.

@amerpie my neighborhood was easily 25-1 Trump signs in 2020 and precinct went +9 Biden. Signs are just a terrible barometer: www.washingtonpost.com/news/the-…
…but I’ve def seen far fewer this year!

@rscottjones @amerpie Very nice. I will add that I heard that Florida is seeing a tremendous reduction in pickups decorated for Trump and a surprising number decked out for Harris/Walz. Alas, I cannot remember the source at the moment.

@rscottjones Republicans always win the sign wars here but Democrats win at the polls. Hell, in 2008, Obama won the Ft. Bragg precinct because those guys were REALLY tired of getting deployed all the time and they knew McCain’s answer to foreign policy was always “more soldiers.”

@cliffordbeshers I saw a Harris/Waltz rally in The Villages which we’d all been led to believe was 100% Republicanland
