I’ve decided to give Arc for Mac a real shot, going all-in as my default browser. I usually use Safari and have no complaints with it. Nice to see Arc trying some new things, though. Also liked Chris Messina’s post about where Arc 2.0 might be going.

@manton can we really trust an upstart browser in this day and age? It’s such a crucial piece of software with access to so much data.


@steveriggins It’s a great question. Listening to the CEO, I’m inclined to trust his team. It’s not clear whether they can become a profitable business but I think their heart is the right place.

@manton I’ve been burned by so many good people taking the big money way out.

I had some growing pains initially but Arc has changed browsing for me for the better and it’s rare that I find browsers to be a joy to use, but this has been. The split screen, mini arc, really cool UX concepts.

have you checked out Zen browser, based on Firefox (yipes! No Chromium!), but hardened?
