I was feeling pretty good about making improvements and deploying them while on vacation… Until I woke up and realized I had broken a few things. Very sorry, Micro.blog… Bad testing on my part. Should be fixed now.

Thank you. I saw the News account sharing that “Fixed a new error with posts not appearing in the timeline”. Question: the fixes you are mentioning on your post also addressed the cross-posting. It was also broken early today (in Europe).

@vladcampos Yes, it’s the same problem. I’ll update the news blog to mention that.
@dame.bsky.social I have been resting too! I actually find it more stressful if I’m completely unplugged because then I don’t know if there are problems I’m missing.

Not sure if it is the usual delay, but it’s been 20 min and the post below was not cross-posted to Threads or LinkedIn. It worked as expected on Mastodon and Bluesky.: vladcampos.com/2024/11/2…

@otaviocc I’ll check it out. There’s not a widespread problem (I just tested sign-in and email came through within seconds) so maybe your emails are getting flagged as spam somewhere.

@help My last few wordpress posts have (still, after several days) not made it onto my timeline. I feel like this keeps happening which makes me suspect user error on my side. Any ideas? (nb. I have an old crossposting-bot account).

@help So, those two recents posts finally appeared on the feed here (but were not cross-posted), and another post, added after the previous reply, hasn’t made it to micro.blog/jaffe yet…

@jaffe Thanks, I’m taking a closer look. We discontinued the bot subscription so maybe something wasn’t updated with your account.

@jaffe I just checked your feeds again and there are no new posts in it. Maybe the issue is the feed (in WordPress?) isn’t getting updated.

@help thanks for checking. But note that I’ve got two separate sources from two different blogs at andrewjaffe.net. This blog has updates at this jsonfeed which haven’t made it onto my micro.blog feed.

@otaviocc Are you still not receiving emails? And did those couple emails that got through, were those sign-in emails but they arrived too late?

@jaffe I wonder if another change this week got your feed unstuck, because now I am seeing your latest post from the microblog feed in Micro.blog. Anything else look wrong? (There’s an issue with showing the domain name, which I’m fixing.)

@help I am absolutely not seeing the most recent posts at micro.blog/jaffe. The latest one (aside from this conversation) I see is “Just discovered that, on a clear day, we can see Mt Fuji, 90 miles distant, from our apartment building” but should be “Kind of obsessed with our view of Fuji-san.”

@jaffe The “kind of obsessed” post is not in the feed. Caching problem? I see it on your blog, but it’s not anywhere in /microblog/feed/json.

@help @jaffe Ok, I’ve rebuilt the entire cache, changed the TTL settings, and made some test posts. They show up on the blog and at least in my view of the feed, but still nothing here on here on micro.blog. (FWIW: I did notice that the www
version of the feed URL took slightly longer to update.)
