I’m falling well short of my reading goals this year. My currently reading list keeps getting bigger, but I’m not finishing anything. For the rest of 2024, just want to finish Wind and Truth. 📚
Once upon a time I was was ravenous reader and the past few years I've made several attempts to get back to it but so far I've failed. I wish you luck!
Maybe add a fourth category: After want to read, currently ready, and finished reading, you could have stopped reading. Not all books are worth it in a given situation. There's also a fifth: "processed", because sometimes you need to squeeze out of a book what you need without every single step.

@markstoneman.com I do have a "did not finished", but I wait a long time before giving up, especially if I'm halfway through something already.
I recently gave up on something after reminding myself of the sunk cost fallacy.

@Munish The style of writing was difficult for me to get into but I liked it. Think I’ll enjoy it if I get further.

I like the idea of scrying a reading list rather than reading goals.
Goals are arbitrary and inflexible, and interesting books are practically infinite.
Scrying is essentially sorting a massive reading list by interest in descending order, and allowing ourselves to read the top 5 or so, just like a card game.

I know how you feel. Your a better man than me. I only got 50% through
