I still want to do more with Open Library. Our app Epilogue can search and get covers from Open Library. But the database just isn’t complete enough and needs more apps to help users add and curate book metadata.
Huh! I had no idea you had a book app. I have…a lot of recent experience in this area.

@manton.org Yeah! Fable, right? I mostly just need basic data and tried to lean on other services… Google Books, ISBNdb, Open Library, Libby. Really didn’t want to reinvent the wheel again.

agree with this. I tried to use Open Library but there were too many books missing and ultimately that’s a bad user experience so I would suffer.
I opted for Google books in the end

I’ve had to navigate Open Library a few times to add books (often newly published from smaller publishers) that I couldn’t find otherwise in Epilogue. It’s all doable, but it could be much easier.

@adders Lemme know if you have any ideas to make this smoother. I was experimenting with a way to add books to Open Library directly in Epilogue, which should help a little.
