Worked on some book-related improvements in Micro.blog this morning. We try to integrate with all sorts of things — Google Books, Open Library, Libby — but a lot of it is not exactly officially sanctioned. Added more Goodreads scraping today. In for a penny, in for a pound!

are audiobooks supported somewhere?

Manton Reece

@alttext Nothing special for audiobooks yet. What I do is just find the ISBN for the print copy of the book and add that, even if I listened to the audiobook version. Any specific requests for this?

Thomas Brand

@manton being able to import from Audible using Amazon's ASIN would be useful.

I'm new around here and looking for the best/laziest possible workflows for me to grab/share content/what I am consuming. Planning to using recommendations heavily for books/audiobooks, movies, tv, games. Surprised Goodreads doesn't already sync with Audible given shared ownership.

Manton Reece

@Eggfreckles Yeah, I'll look at that. I really wanted to tie everything to ISBN, but the reality is we live in Amazon's world.

Thomas Brand

@manton I feel the same way.

Very nice! The integrated bookshelves and focus on book blogging is one of my favorite features of Micro.blog and definitely sets the platform apart for avid readers.

Have you ever considered linking the book covers we can display on our websites back to our personal reviews of the book vs. the generic Micro.blog book page?

Thanks for all great work, Manton.

I do the same but it’d be nice to track more specifically, if at all possible.
