Randomly stumbled on my post from two years ago about Threads joining the fediverse. It holds up so well it could’ve been written yesterday. Still no sign of Meta completing the parts of ActivityPub like account migration that would ease up on lock-in.
All they wanted was people to not go crazy at the idea of migrating from Musk to Zuck.

Interesting to go back two years, I did it too.
And it's same way I read it only more so. ActivityPub has not become a widespread basis for interop.
BTW are you using only ActivityPub to integrate with Threads?
What I didn't anticipate was AT Proto, but I consider it equally unlikely to be a basis for much interop.
And I continue to believe the things that make AP so complicated are the things we like less and less about twitter-like systems.

@dave For Threads integration I'm using the Threads API, which is of course a proprietary Meta thing. It's a bit discouraging that everyone still mostly reinvents their own posting API.
