Rolled out some Micro.blog improvements to uploads on the web today. For example, if AI is enabled there are auto-generated accessibility descriptions for photos, and now you can edit the description without first needing to use it in a post. Plus some more UI tweaks for uploads.
René Fischer @manton That’s great! Would love to upload more than one picture at once. And another question: Is there a way to hook something like TinyPNG in the upload process / backend to reduce the file size of uploaded photos?
Manton Reece @flschr Not currently but that’s an interesting idea. For JPEGs we now create a few sizes automatically, but not for PNGs yet. I think more flexibility in the apps before upload could be useful.
René Fischer @manton I currently push my photos through a iOS shortcut to reduce the resolution and shrink the file size with a web service. I unfortunately forgot to handle a few photos that way and now have some large photos in my blog, reducing the loading time. Is there a way to shrink them without reuploading them?
